Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Coast Creative Studio (“Coast Creative,” “we,” “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers our website at coastcreative.studio and every app we publish — the macOS suite (MOTHER, FATHER, BISHOP, and ASH), our widget apps (Lumen, Panel, NULL, and ROOK), and our iOS apps, Coast Widgets and TREKR. Duesday has its own privacy policy at duesday.app/privacy; the Duesday section below explains what this policy still covers.

The short version: we collect very little, we don’t sell your data, and our apps keep your information on your own device.

Information we collect

We keep this to what we actually need:

When you contact us: your name, email, an optional phone number, and whatever you include in your message, sent through our contact form.
When you buy an app: your purchase goes through our Shopify store. Shopify processes your payment and collects your billing details on its secure checkout, then delivers your download by email. We receive the order information we need — such as your name, email, country, and what you bought — to provide support and meet our tax and accounting obligations. We never see your full card number.
When you download an app: we keep an anonymous count of total downloads per app. It’s a tally only and isn’t tied to you.
Automatically: like most websites, our host (Vercel) records basic technical logs — such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested — to keep the site secure and running.

What our apps do NOT collect

This is the important part. Our apps run entirely on your Mac.

The API keys, tokens, passwords, settings, and site data you enter stay in local storage on your own computer. The apps connect directly from your Mac to the third-party services you choose — such as Vercel, Google, Microsoft Bing, GitHub, and Anthropic. That information flows between you and those services; it does not pass through Coast Creative, and we never receive or store it.

Any encrypted backup you create stays on your machine, or wherever you choose to save it, protected by a password only you know.

Duesday

Duesday has its own home and its own privacy policy at duesday.app/privacy. That policy is the authoritative description of what the app does: everything you enter stays in a local database on your Mac, and the app’s only network request is a periodic, anonymous download of its price catalog — which you can turn off in the app’s settings.

What this policy still covers is the part that runs through Coast Creative. If you buy Duesday or download its free trial from our store, that purchase and download are handled as described in “Information we collect” above. If you contact us for Duesday support, your message comes through our contact form like any other.

Coast Widgets (iOS): what it does and doesn’t collect

Effective August 25, 2026. Coast Widgets does not collect your personal information. There is no account to create, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party trackers in the app. Everything you set up stays on your iPhone.

The sections below explain what the app can access on your device, the few requests that leave your device so widgets can show live information, and what is stored.

Coast Widgets: what it can access on your device

Every item below is optional. The app asks before using any of it, and it keeps working — with those particular widgets empty — if you say no. You can change your mind at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security.

Calendar — read only, so the Agenda and Calendar widgets can show your upcoming events. Coast Widgets never creates, edits, or deletes anything in your calendar, and your events are never sent anywhere.
Reminders — read only, so the Reminders widget can show what’s due. Coast Widgets never changes your reminders, and they are never sent anywhere.
Location — used only if you turn on “Use current location” for weather. Your coordinates are used to request a local forecast and are not stored beyond your device or shared with anyone else. If you leave the setting off, the app uses only the city you choose by name.
Motion & Fitness — used only by the Steps widget, to read the step count, walking distance, and flights climbed that your iPhone already records. This is read only. Coast Widgets never writes anything to Motion & Fitness, and your step data never leaves your iPhone.
Health — used only by the Activity widget, to read your Move, Exercise, and Stand rings for the current day. This is read only: Coast Widgets requests no permission to write to Health and never adds, edits, or deletes anything there. Your health information never leaves your iPhone — it is not sent to Coast Creative, not sent to anyone else, and not used for advertising or analytics of any kind. Because iOS keeps Health data locked while your iPhone is locked, and widgets refresh mostly while your iPhone is in your pocket, the Activity widget cannot read Health on its own; Coast Widgets reads your rings while you have the app open and keeps the latest reading in its own private storage on your device so the widget has something to draw. Opening the app refreshes it.
Photos — used only when you pick a picture for an app-launcher icon. The app receives just the image you select — it cannot browse your library. The picture is copied into the app’s own storage on your device so the widget can draw it.

Coast Widgets: information that leaves your device

Widgets show live information, so some requests go out to fetch it. These requests carry only what is needed to answer them, and none of them include your name, your device identifiers, or an account of any kind.

Weather widgets — the request goes to Apple Weather (WeatherKit) and contains the coordinates or city you chose.
Weather, if Apple Weather is unavailable — the request goes to Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) and contains the coordinates you chose.
Searching for a city in Settings — the request goes to Open-Meteo geocoding and contains the city name you type.
Watchlist widget — the request goes to Yahoo Finance and contains the ticker symbols you chose.
Feed widget — a normal request goes to the feed address you entered, like any feed reader.
App Store artwork for launcher icons (only if you turn it on) — the request goes to Apple’s App Store search and contains the name of the app whose icon is being fetched.
Your Health and Motion & Fitness data is not in this list, and never will be. It is read on your iPhone, drawn on your iPhone, and goes nowhere else.

Coast Widgets: where weather data comes from

Weather information is provided by Apple Weather. Apple’s handling of that data is described at apple.com/legal/privacy, and the required data source list is at weatherkit.apple.com/legal-attribution.html.

Coast Widgets has no server. Nothing you do in the app is sent to Coast Creative.

Coast Widgets: what is stored, and where

Your settings and content live in the app’s private storage on your iPhone, shared only between the app and its own widgets:

The city or coordinates you chose for weather, and your away city for Dual Time.
Your checklist items, water count and goal, focus length, and countdown event.
Your ticker symbols and feed address.
Your launcher setups: names, sizes, chosen apps, custom apps, and icons.
Any pictures you picked for launcher icons, and your Home Screen screenshot if you set up Lumen’s frosted glass.
Your style, theme, accent, and appearance choices.
Your step goal, your streak name, and which days you have marked off.
The most recent reading of your Activity rings and step count, kept only so the widgets have something to show between refreshes.
A short-lived cache of recent weather, stock, and feed results so widgets don’t refetch constantly.

Coast Widgets: a specific promise about health and fitness data

Apple asks apps that read health and fitness data to be explicit, so to be completely clear, Coast Widgets:

reads your Health and Motion & Fitness data only to draw the Activity and Steps widgets;
never transmits it anywhere — there is no server to transmit it to;
never uses it for advertising, marketing, analytics, or profiling;
never sells or shares it with anyone, including data brokers;
never writes to Health or Motion & Fitness;
never stores it in iCloud or any other cloud service.
If you withdraw permission in iOS Settings, the Activity and Steps widgets simply stop showing numbers. Nothing else in the app changes.

Coast Widgets: deleting your data

Deleting Coast Widgets removes all of it from your device. Nothing is kept anywhere else, because there is nowhere else.

How we use information

We use the little we collect to:

Respond to your inquiries and provide the services you ask for.
Deliver app purchases and provide support.
Keep the website secure and working.
Understand overall interest through aggregate download counts.
Meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

We don’t sell your data

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it with advertisers. We keep tracking to a minimum and don’t use advertising cookies.

Service providers we rely on

A few trusted providers help us run the business, and each has its own privacy policy:

Vercel — website hosting.
Resend — delivers the emails sent from our contact form.
Shopify — powers our online store, processes app purchases, and delivers your download after checkout.
For the apps, the third-party services you connect (Google, GitHub, Vercel, Microsoft Bing, Anthropic, and similar) handle your data under their own policies.

Data retention

We keep contact messages and order records only as long as we need them for the purpose we collected them and for legal or accounting requirements, then delete or anonymize them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — for example under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) or the EU/UK GDPR — you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of its sale. We don’t sell personal information. To exercise any of these rights, just email us and we’ll take care of it.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect the information we hold. The local-first design of our apps means the most sensitive data — your keys and tokens — never leaves your device in the first place.

Children

Our website and apps aren’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.

Where your information is processed

We’re based in the United States. If you contact us or buy from us from another country, your information will be processed in the U.S. and other countries where our providers operate.

Changes to this policy

We’ll post any updates here and change the “last updated” date above.
